26 Jun 2021 Williamsburg, VA On June 25th, 1776, Patrick Henry was elected as the first Governor of Virginia. He took office on July 6, 1776, and served three consecutive one year terms. As a Virginia SAR Presidential Initiative, this event was marked with a ceremony in front of the Governor's Mansion in Williamsburg. President Charles Jameson presented the chapter wreath and both he and Michael Dennis marched in the Color Guard.

26 Jun 2021 James City County, VA On the 240th anniversary of the Battle of Spencer's Ordinary, the Virginia SAR conduct a ceremony to remember this event in the lead up to victory at Yorktown. President Charles Jameson Presented the chapter wreath and both he and Michael Dennis marched with the Color Guard.
19 Jun 2021 Winchester, VA Today the Virginia SAR celebrated the life of General Daniel Morgan at his grave in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester. The program was planned and conducted by the Colonel James Wood II Chapter. Immediately following that program the CJWII Chapter marked the grave of patriot Philip Bush. President Charles Jameson led the CMM participants and presented the chapter wreath in both ceremonies. Other CMM participants were CMM Color Guard Commander Michael Dennis and Bill Schwetke. All CMM participants marched in the Color Guard and Michael and Bill fired muskets in the musket salutes.

Now Rich is moving to Florida and it is time to find a new treasurer. And also time to express our thanks to Rich for his active service in the chapter and his exceptional service as our treasurer. So with less than a week before Rich's departure, President Jameson met him in Panera at Warrenton and presented the medal. Many thanks to our compatriot, Rich LePage.
12 Jun 2021 Culpeper, VA In honoring Flag Day, which will officially be next Monday, the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter, joined by three other SAR chapters and two DAR chapters honored our flag at the DAR Monument in Yowell Meador Park. President Charles Jameson planned and mc'd the ceremony which included a display of historical flags with explainations, an poster board display of our flag's hnistory, presentation of wreaths and a musket salute. President James, CMM Color Guard Commander Michael Dennis, and Bill Schwetke also participated as uniformed color guardsmen. The Col James Wood II Chapter joined Warren County in remembering Dr. Warren with a ceremony at the Warren County Administrative Building which included presentation of wreaths, a musket salute, and the lowering of the Warren County Flag to half mast, where it will remain until the anniversary of his death on June 19th. Bill Schwetke represented the CMM Chapter, presented the chapter wreath, and commanded the Color Guard.
05 Jun 2021 Leesburg, VA 240 years ago General Anthony Wayne of Pennsylvania crossed the Potomac with reinforcements to help the Virginians fight off an invading British force uner Benedict Arnold. We celbrated this event with a ceremony in Leesburg today and the CMM contingent was loed by President Charles Jameson who presented the chapter wreath. Also participating were Michael Dennis and Bill Schwetke. All three CMM participants marched in the Color Guard.
04 Jun 2021 near Amissville, VA Today two CMM compatriots, including President Charles Jameson, joined with six members of the Fauquier Court House Chapter, DAR, to survey the Patriot Peter Hitt cemetery and cabin in Fauquier County, near Amissville. The goal is for the DAR to mark the grave of Peter Hitt and for the DAR and SAR to help the Germanna Foundation, which owns the land, to fence off the cemetery and restore the Peter Hitt home. The grave of Peter Hitt was previously marked by the SAR and still has an SAR marker.
Peter Hitt's grandfather, also Peter Hitt, emigrated from Germany as one of the original Germanna settlers. Peter's father, also Peter Hitt, was born in Germantown, Stafford County (now Fauquier) where Peter was born in about 1756. In August of 1777 Peter enlisted in Elias Edmund's company of artillery. During the Battle of Camden, August 16, 1780, Peter was wounded and taken prisoner and not released until the end of the war. Peter is the patriot ancestor of five SAR compatriots.
