28 Jun 2024 Washington, DC Friday evening of the NSDAR 2024 Continental Congress DAR committees and various other organizations set up booths at the Congress Hotel. The SAR supported the DAR SAR/SR Liaison Committee's both with Color Guardsmen for photo opportunities. The two guards men were Ken Bonner, of the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter, and Bill Schwetke of the CMM. Bob Cohen of the Texas SAR, whose wife is vice-chair of the DAR committee, also helped with the booth.

25 Jun 2024 Washington, DC Today the DAR conducted a Flag Raising Ceremony as a prelude to their Congress at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. CMM compatriot Bill Schwetke participated in the SAR Color Guard and carried the Betsy Ross Flag.
23 Jun 2024 Richmond, VA Today the Virginia Society, lead by the Richmond Chapter, marked the grave of John Marshall, a lieutenant in the 17758 Culpeper Minutemen, and later Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The CMM were represented by President Jim Bish and Charles Jameson. Charles Jameson presented the chapter wreath and marched in the Color Guard.

15 Jun 2024 Winchester, VA The Colonel James Wood II Chapter hosted a state event to honor Daniel Morgan and the birth of the US Army with the Beeline March in 1775. Bill Schwetke presented the chapter wreath, marched with the Color Guard, and fired in the musket salute. In the picture above will notice that Daniel Morgan, in stone, is included in the picture as this version of him is a member of the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter. 14 Jun 2024 Culpeper, VA The Culpeper Minutemen Chapter set up a booth at the Culpeper Fest conducted at the Eastern View High School football stadium. the CMM passed out US Flags for Flag Day and also Liberty Sprigs along with their story. Participants included President Jim Bish, Michael Dennis, and Bill Schwetke.
10 Jun 2024 Front Royal, VA Today the Colonel James Wood II Chapter hosted a celebration of the birth of Joseph Warren with a ceremony in front of the Warren County Administration Building in Front Royal. As part of the Ceremony the County Flag was lowered to half-staff where it will be flown until the anniversary of Warren's death on June 17th.
The CMM was represented by Michael Dennis, Charles Jameson and Bill Schwetke The chapter wreath was presented by Bill Schwetke and all three participated in the Color Guard and the musket firing. 08 Jun 2024 Fredericksburg, VA On June 1st, 1774, the inhabitants of Fredericksburg met at the Town House and approved a list of resolves that expressed support for actions by the colonies to restore the rights and liberties of the town of Boston and to establish a Committee of Correspondence to "correspond with the neighboring towns and counties for the purpose of communicating to each other, in the most speedy manner, their sentiments on this present interesting and alarming situation of America." Members appointed to this committee included Fielding Lewis and Charles Washington.
To celebrate this auspicious anniversary the Col Fielding Lewis Chapter met at the Rising Sun Tavern, which in 1774 was the home of Charles Washington, youngest brother of George Washington. The ceremony was conducted on the porch of the tavern and concluded with a reading of the approved resolves greeted with resounding HUZZAHs! The CMM was represented by Michael Dennis, Charles Jameson, and Bill Schwetke. All participated in the Color Guard. The ceremony included significant participation by the DAR and C.A.R. |
