For the 25th year the CMM hosted a Multi-Chapter Meeting at Graves Mountain Lodge. Twenty-five years ago it was just three chapters, now grown to eight with the addition of the new Sergeant Major John Champe Chapter. Fifty-one compatriots and guests enjoyed camaraderie and good food. Thomas Jefferson Chapter President David Cooke was this year's master of ceremonies and Virginia SAR President Jeff Thomas was the keynote speaker. This event is organized and hosted by the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter with the Master of Ceremonies Role rotated among the chapters.

22 Aug 2021 Front Royal, VA A true patriot and staunch compatriot has left us. Al White was CMM 2nd Vice President 2005-2007 and the Founding President of the Colonel James Wood II Chapter.
Al was born 22 January 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia. He served in World War II in Okinawa and in Korea. He had a long distinguished career in education and eventually opened the Glen Manor Winery. He joined the SAR in 2003 and was asked to be the Founding President of a new chapter to be formed in the northern Shenandoah Valley. In November 2007, the Colonel James Wood II Chapter was chartered under his guidance. (thanks to Dale Corey) The CMM were led by President Charles Jameson, who presented the chapter wreath and participating were Michael Dennis and Bill Schwetke, joined by dual members Sean Carrigan, Dale Corey, Barry Schwoerer, Marc Robinson, and Mike Weyler. All CMM compatriots marched in the Color Guard and Micheal Dennis and Bill Schwetke fired in the musket volleys. 21 Aug 2021 Elkwood, VA See a video of the ceremony here. William Clarke was a free black man who served in the Continenetal Army from the earliest days of the war until the end. The CMM placed a brass SAR Patriot Marker in the cemetery where it is believed that William Clarke was buried, a cemetery on land owned by his daughter, Kitty's, husband, Willis Madden. Virginia SAR President Jeff Thomas, four other Virginia SAR chapters (Fairfax Resolves, George Mason, Col James Wood II, and Col William Grayson), one DAR chapter, the Governor of the Virginia OFPA and descendants of WIlliam Clarke, joined the CMM in this marking ceremony. CMM President Charles Jameson was the master of ceremonies, and Virginia SAR Color Guard Commander, Ken Bonner, commanded the Color Guard. 13-14 Aug 2021 Annapolis, MD Bill Schwetke, fourth from the left, presents a CMM Flag Pin to new dual member Peter Moller of the Delaware Society. The Atlantic Middle States Association, comprising of two districts, the North Atlantic District and the Mid-Atlantic District, which include seven states, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. This year's meeting was hosted by Maryland in Annapolis. Notable events at this meeting included the announcement of Peter Davenport as the Mid0Atlantic Districts nominee for its Vice President General for the next term. He will stand for election by the general membership at the 2022 Congress in Savannah, GA, next July. Also the two districts endorsed a slate of candidates for the national offices for 2022-2023. Those endorsed include: President General - C. Bruce Pickette (AL - CMM dual member) Secretary General - John Dodd (CA) Treasurer General - Tony Vets (LA) Chancellor General - Mike Elston (VA) Genealogist General - Gary Green (NC - CMM dual member) Registrar General - Allen Greenly (GA) Historian General - Brooks Lyles (International) Librarian General - Fred Olive (AL) Surgeon General - Keith Weissinger (WA) Foundation Board Member - Davis Wright (DE) There was no candidate declared for the office of Chaplain General. Some of the offices had only one candidate declared, but three were contested, for Treasurer General, Genealogist General, and Historian General.
