VASSAR President Pat Kelly also presented his research on the Settlers and Indians of Southwest Virginia, and how the battles between them starting in 1773 built a disciplined frontier fighting force which helped win the Revolutionary War in the South.
The Chapter is blessed to receive a new Culpeper Minutemen Battle Flag thanks to a generous gift from Past President Bill Schwetke and his wife Cat. The color scheme is our best estimate of how the original battle flag looked based on historic descriptions.
A couple of general items for Culpeper Minutemen Members - We received a new shipment of Culpeper Minutemen lapel pins. These more closely resemble the shape and color of the original Battle Flag than the old pins. Anyone wanting a new pin - the cost is $2. If you would like to exchange your old pin for a new pin - then the price is free.
We are still collecting donations to join the Great Bridge Battlefield and Waterways 1775 Society. We are currently 42% of the way to our goal of $1775. Please consider giving to this special collection.
