March 29th is National Vietnam Veterans' Day and the CMM played an active roll in ceremonies and events to mark the day. CMM 1st Vice President Charles Jameson, himself a Vietnam Combat Veteran, passed out Vietnam Veteran Hats at Culpeper National Cemetery. Bill Schwetke marched in the Color Guard at the ceremony at Winchester National Cemetery. This commemoration has taken place each March 29th since it was instituted by Presidential Proclamation in 2012, and will continue through 2025.

14-17 Mar 2019 Richmond, VA Three CMM members attended the Annual Meeting of the Virginia DAR at the Marriott on Broad Street in Richmond this past weekend. Representing the CMM were past President Larry Alexander with his wife Beverly, past President Bill Schwetke with his wife Cat, and Craig Truskey with his wife Kathy.
16 Mar 2019 Greensboro, NC Today the SAR honored those who fought at Guilford Court House on March 15, 1781. The CMM were represented by past President Bill Schwetke who presented the chapter wreath and marched in the Color Guard. Dual member Pat Kelly also suited out to participate in the Color Guard.
16 Mar 2019 Montpelier, VA On Saturday, 16 March 2019, members of the Culpeper Minutemen attended the 268th Birthday celebration for James Madison at Montpelier. CMM President Tom Hamill presented a wreath on behalf of the Chapter in honor of our 4th President. It was a moving ceremony on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The US Marine Corps provided the Honor Guard and a 21 gun salute. Del. Nick Freitas gave an excellent keynote speech on preserving freedom. In attendence for the CMM were President Tom Hamill, Vice President Charles Jameson, Past President Jerry Hubbard, Treasurer Bill Mutziger, Color Guard Commander Mike Dennis and junior member Aaron Hamill. FCH Chapter DAR member Suzan Hamill also accompanied the CMM contingent.
9 Mar 2019 Manassas, VA CMM President Tom Hamill presented the CMM Wreath and Bill Schwetke presented the Virginia Society Wreath at the marking of Patriot Drummond Wheeler's grave conducted by the Colonel William Grayson Chapter today in Manassas. Drummond Wheeler's patriotism was proven by his payment of Property and Land taxes in 1782 and 1783. Both Tom and Bill participated in the Color Guard and Bill participated in the musket volleys at the end of the program.
1-2 Mar 2019 Brown Hotel, Louisville, KY Two members of the CMM, Bill & Doug Schwetke, and six dual members, Lindsey Brock, Doug Collins, Gary Green, Pat Kelly, Jeff Thomas, and Mike Tomme, attended Spring Leadership in Louisville. Bill is a member of the 250th Anniversary, Color Guard, Council of State Presidents, DAR Liaison, Genealogy, and Reenactor Living History Committees. Doug is a member of the Color Guard and Reenactor Living History Committees. During the Color Guard Committee Meeting dual member Gary Green (pictured above at far right) was selected as the NSSAR Color Guardsman of the Year for 2018.
