19 Oct 2018 Yorktown, VA The American and French victory at Yorktown, 237 years ago, was celebrated today with the SAR participating in a ceremony at Governor Thomas Nelson, Jr's tomb and a parade down Main Street. CMM participants included: Vice President Charles Jameson, who presented the CMM Chapter wreath and participated in the Color Guard; CMM Color Guard Commander Michael Dennis, who participated in the Color Guard; dual member Andrew Lyngar, who presented the Rocky Mountain District wreath and participated in the Color Guard; Lance Lyngar, who participated in the Color Guard; Doug Schwetke, who presented the van Zandt (TX) Chapter wreath and participated in the Color Guard; and Bill Schwetke, who commanded the SAR Color Guard.

13 Oct 2018 St. John's Church, Richmond, VA Three members of the CMM participated in the grave marking of Brigadier General Robert Lawrence at St. John's Church in Richmond. CMM dual member Andrew Lyngar, as VPG of the Mountain District, brought greetings from the National Society, Bil Schwetke presented the Virginia SAR wreath, and Lance Lyngar presented the CMM wreath. Bill Schwetke also participated in the Color Guard.
6 Oct 2018 Lynchburg, VA On Saturday, Oct 6th, the Virginia Society SAR and the Society of the War of 1812 in the Commonwealth of Virginia held a joint plaque dedication ceremony at the Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia. VASSAR President Pat Kelly gave the keynote address and unveiled the plaque dedicated to the Revolutionary War veterans buried there. Culpeper Minuteman President Tom Hamill presented a wreath for the chapter and also was a flag bearer in the color guard. Junior member Aaron Hamill also attended and presented a wreath for the Ashby's Gap Society of the CAR. VASSAR Graves Chairman - and Culpeper Minutemen Member - Mike Lyman was also present, and represented both the Virginia Society, SAR and the War of 1812 Society.
