Today 14 CMM compatriots, 5 wives (one a DAR member), and one prospective member, were honored by a visit from the Virginia SAR President, Mike Elston. President Elston inducted two new members, briefed us the accomplishment of our state goals for 2017-8, and installed our chapter officers for 2018.

Jack Lynch also received the War Service Medal with Five Bronze Bars and one Oak Leaf Cluster for Korea, Southwest Asia, Kosovo, Iraq, the Global War on Terrorism, and Lebanon.
After lunch, Virginia SAR President Mike Elston briefed us on the Virginia SAR goals for 2017-8 and the progress we made in accomplishing them.

Next, President Elston installed our officers for 2018. Due to last minute business travel, illness, and long panned vacations, some of our new officers were unable to attend. Our new president, Tom Hamill, with assistance from his wife, Susan, was able to participate from Denver, via FaceTime.

As an honorarium, the CMM presented a donation to the 1st Virginia Regiment in Mike Elston's name for "Washington's Friends and Foes". He also received the CMM Gold Medal for his outstanding leadership of the Virginia SAR to the significant benefit of the CMM.

Since new president, Tom Hamill, was not physically present, Jerry Hubbard passed the gavel to Treasurer Bill Mutziger to complete the meeting.
Bill Mutziger presented Jerry Hubbard with an Oak Leaf Cluster for his Bronze Roger Sherman Medal for his outstanding leadership in this, his second term as our president. Jerry also received a plaque, with gavel, from the CMM members in gratitude.
