28 May 2021 Brookneal, VA The Virginia SAR, in conjunction with the staff at Patrick Henry's Red Hill, held a grand celebration for Patrick Henry's 285th Birthday at his home at Red Hill. President Jameson led the CMM participants, which also included Bill Schwetke. Both CMM participants marched in the Color Guard and Bill commanded the Color Guard for the presentation of the colors and he also participated in the musket salute.

22 May 2021 Richmond, VA The Virginia SAR Patriot Monument, listing the names of known patriots buried in Shockoe Hill Cemetery in Richmond, was dedicated in a ceremony deesgnated a state event. This Monument was originally intended to be dedicated during the 2020 NSSAR Congress in Richmond. That dedication was cancelled along with the Congress, but the Monument was dedicated this weekend as one of President Jeff Thomas' initiatives. The Richmond Chapter was the host, Richmond Chapter President Bill Haskins was the master of ceremonies, and Virginia SAR President Jeff Thomas led the Dedication Ceremony with George Washington Chapter Vice President Richard Rankin acting as chaplain. The monument was designed by CMM compatriot Bill Schwetke, who also planned the dedication ceremony. Bill also presented the CMM Chapter Wreath, marched in the Color Guard, and fired a musket in the musket salute. CMM commpatriot Mike Lyman also participated in the Color Guard and many of the names on the monument were as a result of his research. Virginia SAR Color Guard Commander Ken Bonner led the Color Guard that raised the US Flag on the flagpole that is part of the Monument and also commanded the eleven muskets that fired a three volley salute as the covers were removed from the Monument. Dale Corey plaid "To the Colors" on his bugle as Old Glory was raised on the flagpole and also led all present in singing "America the Beautiful" after the musket salute. The Monument currently has te names of twenty patriots engraved upon it, but with room to add more as they are verified, which will certainly occur. Five of the names were given special attention to count for patriot grave markings. 15 May 2021 Bluemont, VA On a beautiful Saturday morning in the Piedmont the Virginia SAR marked the graves of patriots buried at Ebenezer near Bluemont, VA. The Fairfax Resolves and William Grayson Chapters planned and executed the ceremony that was designated a State Event by Virginia SAR President Jeff Thomas. The DAR and C.A.R. were also well represented. The CMM contingent was led by President Charles Jameson, who presented the chapter wreath, Michael Dennis, Bill Schwetke, and Doug Schwetke. All four CMM participants marched in the Color Guard; Michael Dennis and Bill Schwetke participated in the musket volley. 10 May 2020 Culpeper, VA The May Meeting of the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter was held at the Mountain Run Winery, the business of prospective member David Foster. Eight members attended, including one by Zoom and one dual member. Also attending were two prospective members, three DAR daughters, and two other wives. President Charles Jameson, Michael Dennis, Doug Schwetke (via Zoom), and Bill Schwetke provided a uniformed Color Guard and presented the Colors. The food was catered by Loudella and was, of course, delicious. The highlight of the meeting was the induction of new member Patrick Steven Edrington. Bill Schwetke conducted the induction and Patrick's wife, Karen, pinned on his SAR Rosette. The program for the Meeting was a talk on the eight Virginians who became presidents, given by President Charles Jameson. 08 May 2021 Martinsville, VA The Raid on Martin's Station has always been held at Wilderness Road State Park, but that was closed this year so the Martin's Station Chapter teamed with the Colonel George Waller Chapter to host the ceremony at the Henry County Court House in Martinsville, VA. It was a great event and a great location. More of the Virginia SAR getting the job done! The CMM were represented by President Charles Jameson, who presented the chapter wreath, and Bill Schwetke. Both participated in the Color Guard. After the ceremony at the Court House, most of the participants traveled 12 miles east to mark General Joseph Martin's grave. 24 Apr 2021 Ft. Worth, TX A member of our chapter, Doug Schwetke, lives in Texas and is active in the local SAR Chapter and the Color Guard there. His Color Guard activity was recently recognized by the Texas SAR with the presentation of the Texas Society Bronze Bernardo de Galvez Medal. The medal was presented at the April meeting of the Maj K.M. van Zandt Chapter in Fort Worth by the Texas Color Guard Northern Commander, Bob Kubin. Doug also frequently travels to Virginia to participate in our activities and is active in our Color Guard.
01 May 2021 Washington, DC On a brisk and breezy morning the Virginia SAR marched for the cameras. The video will be part of the virtual Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day. The CMM were represented by Bill Schwetke who marched in the Color Guard and carried the Historic Culpeper Minute Battalion Flag.
