24 Feb 2018 Oak Grove, VA Today over 150 people gathered at Ingleside Winery in Oak Grove, VA to celebrate the 252 Anniversary of the Leedstown Resolutions. President Pat Kelly led the Virginia SAR delegation which included seven chapters: Colonel Fielding Lewis, Colonel William Grayson, Culpeper Minutemen, James Monroe, Richard Henry Lee, Richmond, and Thomas Jefferson. The Color Guard included six Virginia SAR Color Guardsmen from three chapters, augmented by three members of the C.A.R. and three members of the Yorktown Fife & Drum.

22 Feb 2018 Masonic Cemetery, Culpeper, VA This morning six members of the CMM gathered in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery to pay tribute to General Washington on his 286th birthday. The compatriots gathered between the graves of three of Washington's officers, General Edward Stevens, David Jameson, and John Jameson. Past President Jerry Hubbard was the master of ceremonies. The colors were presented by a uniformed Color Guard consisting of Michael Dennis, Charles Jameson, and Bill Schwetke. Chaplain Len Cowherd and Treasurer Bill Mutziger also participated in the ceremony. Jeff Say of the Culpeper Times covered the ceremony and took pictures.
19 Feb 2018 Alexandria, VA Twenty Virginia SAR Compatriots marched in the George Washington Birthday Parade in Old Town Alexandria. The SAR contingent was led by the Frederick Town Fife and Drum of Frederick Maryland, who have marched with us before.
Before the parade, there was a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unkown Revolutionary War Soldier at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House. CMM past President Bill Schwetke commanded the Color Guard for both events. 17 Feb 2018 South Boston, VA Today CMM President Tom Hamill led the chapter contingent to the 237th Anniversary of the Crossing of the Dan and presented the chapter wreath. Also participating in the ceremony by leading the Color Guard, was past President Bill Schwetke. Both were accompanied by their DAR wives and Tom also brought his two C.A.R. children. 237 years ago, General Greene's Army narrowly beat Cornwallis' forces across the Dan River; which then allowed the Continentals to rest, replenish and reinforce. This would lead to the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in March.
10 Feb 2018 Richmond, VA In Richmond, this Saturday, Charles Jameson was installed as the CMM 2nd Vice President. The Oath of Office was administered by Virginia SAR 2nd Vice President Bill Schwetke in the Rotunda of the Virginia Capitol, by the statue of George Washington. Washington was not the only president in attendance, as CMM President Tom Hamill was also there for the ceremony, as well as CMM Compatriot Michael Dennis.
3 Feb 2017 Warrenton, VA Forty people attended the February Meeting of the Fauquier Court House Chapter, DAR, including three members of the CMM, Larry Alexander, Greg Schumacher, and Bill Schwetke. Bill brought greetings from the CMM and invited the Daughters to attend the "Forgotten Patriots" presentation by the CMM at the Culpeper Museum on Friday, February 23rd, at 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The speaker at this meeting was Lieutenant General, USA, Ret., Roger Schultz, Director of the Army Historical Foundation, the fund raising arm of the National Museum of the United States Army.
