Jim Cordes of the Fairfax Resolves Chapter removes the cover from the SAR Patriot Marker.

Today the Fairfax Resolves Chapter marked the grave of patriot George Kilgour, Lieutenant of the Fairfax Militia during the Revolution. Mark Crain presented the CMM Wreath during the ceremony and both Mark and Bill Schwetke marched in the Color Guard.

Nansemond Indian Pow Wow

The Nansemond Indian Nation, which supported the American Revolution, held their annual Pow Wow this weekend and the Nansemond Indian Patriot Chapter participated with help from several other chapters. Bill Schwetke representing the CMM, presented the colors with the Color Guard, and danced in the Veterans Dance. This event has been a great deal of fun every year for SAR & DAR participants.

Compatriot Bill Schwetke attend today's Virginia DAR District IX Meeting and participated as the "guest" parliamentarian. Bill presented greetings from the SAR and he was also honored with his selection as the District IX HoDAR (Husband of DAR) of the year.

As the "Guest" Parliamentarian, Bill reads the relevant Bylaws before the election of candidates for the Nominating Committee. District IX Director Sonja Johnson is standing with Bill.

Bill receives a certificate as HoDAR of the Year from District IX Director Sonja Johnson.
