18 Nov 2017 Luigi's Restaurant, Culpeper, VA The Culpeper Minutemen Chapter met at Luigi's Restaurant in Culpeper Virginia for the annual Chapter Awards Meeting. Eighteen members, seven spouse/friends (six DAR members), and three prospective members attended. To begin the awards ceremony, President Jerry Hubbard presented Certificates of Appreciation to Charles Jameson, Michael Dennis, Tom Hamill, Bill Mutziger, Lon Lacey, and Bill Schwetke. President Jerry Hubbard also presented two medals, the Chapter Distinguished Service Medal to Registrar Bill Schwetke and the Martha Washington Medal to Cat Schwetke. In the business portion of the meeting, Bill Schwetke strongly encouraged members to attend the Virginia SAR Annual Meeting in Richmond on February 9th and 10th. This would allow CMM compatriots to learn what other chapters are doing and see how our state organization works. Perhaps the most important order of business was the election of the CMM officers for 2018. The following were elected to serve us in 2018: President - Tom Hamill
1st Vice President - Jim Lillard 2nd Vice President - Charles Jameson Secretary - Russ Karr Treasurer - Bill Mutziger Registrar - Russ Karr Historian - Held Vacant for a prospective member Chaplain - Len Cowherd 11 Nov 2017 Culpeper National Cemetery On a beautiful, but cold morning, a crowd of about 100 people gathered to honor veterans at Culpeper National Cemetery.
