Friday evening of the NSDAR 2023 Continental Congress DAR committees and various other organizations set up booths at the Congress Hotel. The SAR supported the DAR SAR/SR Liaison Committee's both with Color Guardsmen for photo opportunities. The two guards men were Ken Bonner, President of the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter, and Bill Schwetke of the CMM. Bob Cohen of the Texas SAR, whose wife is vice-chair of the DAR committee, also helped with the booth.

As part of the 2023 DAR Continental Congress the Virginia Society, DAR, hosted a luncheon. CMM member Bill Schwetke represented the Virginia SAR at the luncheon.
24 June 2023 James City County, VA CMM President Tom Hamill attended the 242nd Commemoration of the Battle of Spencer's Ordinary in Williamsburg, VA. This battle was one of the first encounters between Lafayette's army and Cornwallis' leading up to the Battle of Yorktown. CMM President Tom Hamill presented a wreath on behalf of the Chapter and also participated in the Color Guard. Junior Member Aaron Hamill also attended the ceremony.
23 Jun 2023 Front Royal, VA Today a combined group of compatriots from the Colonel James Wood II and Culpeper Minutemen Chapters made a presentation on Dr. Joseph Warren to two separate groups of residents of Commonwealth Senior Living. Dr. Warren was an early hero of the Revolution and namesake of Warren County and Warrenton in Virginia. The CMM was represented by Bill Schwetke who presented a biography of Dr Warren.
17 Jun 2023 Clear Brook, VA The Colonel James Wood II Chapter hosted a Color Guard Workshop today. CMM attendees were Mark Crain, Brooks Wheeler, and Bill Schwetke. Bill served as an instructor for muket firing and Brooks Wheeler was certified to fire muskets.
17 Jun 2023 Leesburg, VA Today the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter marked the 249th Anniversary of the Loudoun Resolves in a ceremony at the Spirit of Loudoun Statue at the Loudoun County Court House. Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk read a proclamation and wreaths were presented by the Virginia SAR 2nd VP Mike Weyler, Six Virginia SAR Chapter, One Maryland SAR Chapter, Six Virginia DAR Chapters, and one Virginia C.A.R. Society. Bil Schwetke participated in the Color Guard and presented the CMM wreath.
17 Jun 2023 Winchester, VA Today at Mt Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, VA the Col James Wood II Chapter hosted a celebration of General Danile Morgan and the 248th Anniversary of the Beeline March, the birth of the American Army. Mark Crain presented the chapter wreath and both Mark and Bill Schwetke marched in the Color Guard. Bill also fired in the musket salute.
03 June 2023 Leesburg, VA Members of the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter attended the 242nd Commemoration of Wayne's Crossing in Leesburg, VA. General Anthony Wayne commanded one of the Pennsylvania Lines and in 1781 marched his forces down to Virginia to reenforce Lafayette's army. That march passed through Loudon, Fauquier, Culpeper and Orange Counties. CMM President Tom Hamill presented the Chapter wreath at the ceremony, and Honorary President Charles Jameson and CMM Color Guard Commander Michael Dennis participated in the color guard. Dual Members Sean Carrigan, Jeff Thomas, Ken Bonner, Michael Weyler and Dale Corey were also present and played significant roles in the ceremony.
03 Jun 2023 Leesburg, VA The CMM were well represented at Wayne's Crossing this year. President Tom Hamill presented the chapter wreath; CMM Color Guard Commander Michael Dennis and Charles Jameson marched in the Color Guard.
Until Dec 2026, the 250th Anniversary of the disbanding of the Culpeper Minute Battalion, the honored birthday will be of one of the Culpeper Minutemen of 1775/6.
