Al was born 22 January 1927 in Roanoke, Virginia. He served in World War II in Okinawa and in Korea. He had a long distinguished career in education and eventually opened the Glen Manor Winery. He joined the SAR in 2003 and was asked to be the Founding President of a new chapter to be formed in the northern Shenandoah Valley. In November 2007, the Colonel James Wood II Chapter was chartered under his guidance. (thanks to Dale Corey)
The CMM were led by President Charles Jameson, who presented the chapter wreath and participating were Michael Dennis and Bill Schwetke, joined by dual members Sean Carrigan, Dale Corey, Barry Schwoerer, Marc Robinson, and Mike Weyler. All CMM compatriots marched in the Color Guard and Micheal Dennis and Bill Schwetke fired in the musket volleys.
